An emptiness where I’ve lost hope
I’m sailing with no compass
Lost in muddy waters, I ponder.
Life’s beautiful but laced with thorns
Thorns though sharp,toughens me.
I’m bruised wading through the thickets
My blood, though dark, drips from torn flesh
Like a soldier, decorated with battle scars,
Each scar telling a story of battle with life.
Stories devoid of joy, laced with gloom.
Pulled through hot coals.
Sojourned into a stranger’s land
Forced to abandon home to create home
I’m a wanderer, lost in the desert
Forced to till cursed lands till it flourishes
How much more till the land is green
Would the sun still shine after the rains
Would there be calm after the storm.
I just hope there’s a rainbow, waiting for me
