Take a puff and pass the blunt.
Without darkness there'd be no light.
What if darkness was actually the light and the light was darkness.
What if the day was actually night and night was day, then we'd need darkness in form of head lamps to be used on cars during the day as we'd see clearly during the night.
We'd end up paying bills for darkness and buying dark bulbs to be used during the day.. and switch off the dark bulbs during the night
