After the incident with blessing, the young boy had been on low key. He then picked interest in a certain girl in his department. She was light skinned and was from Taraba state. He decided he wanted to talk to her. He sat beside her during Physics 104 Class and told her he wanted to hookup with her that night. She said ok.  Our young boy went to his hostel and towards the evening, took his bath, put on nice clothes and went to see her. They met at one of the colleges after she finished reading. There, the first statement he made was the dumbest and most stupid statement of his life. He said "i would love to date you ". She said "ok" it was then young boy knew he fucked up. He walked her back to her hostel and then walked back to his room feeling disgraced.

Weeks had passed by after the above incident happened. That was when our young boy met Nebari. She was introduced to him by her elder sister who was a final year student back then. Nebari was the epitome of beauty. She's a black fire goddess and she's sun kissed. Nebari was also playful and loved food a lot. They both started as Hello-hi friends. Then they started getting closer. Young boy never knew that this friendship would be the best of ever. Then he started having this sudden rush of adrenaline, rapid pumping of his heart and then sudden stammer in his words whenever he was talking with Nebari. She became his mumu button. He smiled whenever he heard her name but never disclosed his feelings to her.
He was sure he was in love but still he wasn't going to say a word to anyone.

Young Boy's departmental dinner was fast approaching. He asked Nebari to be his date for dinner and she said yes. He was so overjoyed. He was finally going to his dinner with his secret crush. A sudden thought came to him. Since she said yes to the dinner then she might agree to be his girlfriend.  So that was how the plan to ask Nebari Out was conceived. The day he asked her if she would date him, she laughed at it and thought it was one of his numerous jokes. He didn't feel demoralized. He thought. It must have been the initial forming. He decided to ask again but this time ask her to her face. He began thinking of what to do.
He met Ayo, Semiloore, Jerry,Ola and Ik. Told them he asked her out but she said he must be definitely joking. They all laughed at him. Ik suggested young boy should surprise her on her birthday that it would increase his chances. He decided to get her a cake on her birthday. Unfortunately, young Boy's dinner was before her birthday. A week to the dinner, Nebari said she wouldn't be going for the  dinner with him. The world seemed like it had come to an End for our young boy. He met his friends and almost wept in their presence. It was funny seeing Young boy loving and not being loved. The day of the dinner finally came. Young Boy fell sick.  So miserable. No date for the dinner and then he was sick. Ik suggested he didn't go for the dinner but Jerry  and other guys insisted he went. That was how young Boy's Dinner was officially ruined.  Nebari's birthday finally came, so young boy and his friends just went and dropped the cake with her... Wished her well.  A lot transpired in the process of trying to get Nebari. Young boy quarrelled with her numerous times but guess what. They always came back stronger. They settled  to be best of friends . He made a promise to her "to always put a smile on her face no matter how difficult it would be for him"....last time i checked on them they were still friends and young boy still kept his promise.
A full academic year passed and Young Boy hadn't approached any single girl. He always tried comparing any girl recommended by his friends to Nebari. His main company all through was his laptop and his friend Semiloore who had also undergone an emotional trauma during the holiday. His girlfriend sent him a breakup text early one evening saying it was over. He never got a reason for the Break up.
Young Boy has joined bad gang though he doesn't drink or smoke. He just went after almost every girl he saw. That was how he met someone by name Ada, she was in college of law 100 level. He started to follow this girl's issue.. Definitely not because he liked or had any affection for her but because he wanted a friend with benefits. Young Boy kept trying to get Ada but it didn't work. He never knew she was a girl from his tribe. Seemed as if young boy had an affinity for making cakes for all these Girls on their birthdays. Well guess what,  Ada's birthday  came. He went to give her the cake. As they were sitting in café 1 his chair broke.. And for the first time young boy fell from a chair.  He bought her the cake not because she deserved it but because he wanted to settle scores and become ordinary friends.
The last escapade Young Boy had before he eventually started dating was just unique. Yeah you read right.. Young boy Finally had his first girlfriend in his University . But before that let's talk about the last escapade.
Young boy met a girl through his roommate's babe. They actually met on his roommate's babe's birthday.  They got talking and she found out that young boy wrote poems. She picked interest in his poems. They exchanged  contacts and then the process began. The first night they hooked up was beside the University sporting  complex. There was a lot of cuddles and snuggles. She loved it.  Young boy ensured she was comfortable. He leaned in for a kiss but she saw it coming and tilted her head backwards to avoid the kiss. Our young boy kept calm. I guess he must have said to himself "this ain't no ordinary girl " he made another advance and it was rebuffed.. Cool... He played cool till it was time to return to their various residence. They exchanged text messages and it became obvious that she liked him.
It was quite cool. Young boy definitely had no intentions of loving anytime soon. Would this girl change him? Only time would tell.  They met on several nights and then two of those nights determined a lot of things.
On a particular night they were in one SEMI-Dark corner.  He found out she had waist beads. Young boy had an affinity for ladies on waist beads. Nothing much happened to my knowledge shaa.  And then the last night, as they were talking she brought up the topic about three of her friends meeting  a certain "stupid" guy in a party. The "stupid" guy met them and wanted to dance with them..they declined and guess what the guy said.. He said  "ladies come on, what happens in a party stays in a party ..after tonight i don't know you and you don't know me"...Young boy listened gleefully because he knew whom the stupid guy was. The stupid guy was his very self. He had been to a party and told three friends that.....
As she kept telling young boy about the stupid guy. He laughed and told her that very stupid guy was him.. They both laughed. That same night was the first night young boy ever came out with his phone to see her and it was that very night young boy's girlfriend decided to call him. And guess what. His phone was on loud speaker. As he picked the call they talked for sometime. When it was time to say goodbye to his girlfriend he just said "bye take care" and guess what she said.. She said  "what happens to the Normal LOVE YOU  we say after a call. " Young Boy had no other option but to say love you to his girlfriend in front of the other girl he was with. That moment was the turning point. There was this awkward silence. She wondered if she was being played? ..
Well.. Young boy explained things to her. He was forgiven. Months rolled by and young boy was officially single Once again.

Its a new semester and a new session. Jungle don mature. Young boy gets a new girl friend  but breaks up at the end of the semester because he would be out of school for 8 months. He would be away for his industrial training. Leaving his University on the last day he wonders what awaits  him outside the walls of the school. 
Would there be more tales?
Would Young boy find true love?
Would these 8months be eventful?

A week passed, our little boy was feeling better health wise but emotionally he was not complete. Feeling rejected, he decided that he was never going to speak to ladies apart from those in his nuclear and extended family. Thus, the hatred for ladies had being conceived. His favorite female cousin coincidentally came back during this period, he opened up to her and she advised him not go about hating girls that he was too young. The young boy took heed to the advice but decided he was going to hurt any random girl emotionally. He sought for revenge badly.

The holiday after Waec and Neco was a pretty long one. Our young boy was enrolled for computer training to keep him busy. There he met a guy, an old classmate of his who was already dating someone. The young boy had no intentions of disturbing the peace of his lesson place until a very fateful day. His Old classmate was dragging that no guy could take his babe from him. I went home thinking about how confident this guy must be to say this. The young boy decided to stand up and prove the guy wrong. The next day, he set off for his training with his task in mind. He met his old classmate that he was going to prove him wrong, that in two weeks time he would snatch his girlfriend from him. The old classmate laughed and struck a deal with him. The young boy asked for three things from his old buddy. Her phone number, her 2go Username and then that no matter what happens he would never tell his girlfriend that they had a deal to get her in 2 weeks. He agreed and gave him the necessary details. The young boy then had 2 weeks to do whatever he would do.

He got home, dialed the number he was given and a feminine voice picked the call. She asked whom she was speaking with and the
Young boy replied "your secret admirer ". They talked at length the first night and then that was where he got to know her name was Naomi and she was also a trainee at the same place he was also embarking on computer training. He asked her for her 2go username to avoid questions if he added her with out she being the one whom gave him the username. She then gave him her username which corresponded with what his old buddy had given him. Young boy knew he had his task cut short. He began the wooing process. Things were becoming too smooth until the day Naomi told him that she was dating his old classmate. He pretended to be surprised. He wasn't moved. He kept on pushing. Meanwhile the Old classmate then met the young boy and told him that he noticed his girlfriend wasn't giving him much attention as before. The young boy laughed and just told him to keep calm.  Back to Naomi again. The young boy then decided to make a deadly move which was to make Naomi see the flaws her boyfriend had and gave her reasons why she had to leave him. She then asked "leave him for who? " .the Young boy replied "me". He then asked Naomi out despite knowing she was dating. She decided to think about it for a day or two. The young boy's  old classmate called and was wondering what was going on. His girlfriend Naomi wasn't responding again. He then. Decided that the young boy had to stop.  The young boy asked for three or 4 days and his old classmate agreed.
   A day passed,  no response from Naomi. On the 2nd day she said she would only say yes if he had to tell her he loved her to her very face. The young boy agreed. The next day he headed for his training as usual. During the class, he messaged her and told her to meet him outside. He stood up and left the class,  few minutes later she then joined him too. There,  he told her he loved her and even gave her a peck on the cheek as the so called sign of love. She then agreed to be the young boy's girlfriend.  The young boy chatted with his now new girlfriend  and showed the text to his old classmate as proof that the deal had been completed. Old class mate was shocked and congratulated him.  Two nights later,  Naomi messaged the young boy telling him that their relationship was over. The young boy wasn't moved at all because there was never a feeling attached during the entire process. The next day, he found out that his old buddy couldn't take it again and then told Naomi that the young boy had a bet to get her.  She was so furious that she left both guys and went home. Unknown to Naomi that was the last day she would see the young boy because his admission was finalized and he was to return that weekend.  The young boy went home glad with the fact he had his revenge, but suddenly he wanted more. He decided to block Naomi's number and also blocked her on 2go social media.

Weekend came faster than expected. The Young man was going to the University. He got there and was shocked to see much ladies. Haba!  He knew he was a local champion. Orientation week in school was fun. A professor talked to them about the dangers of being in relationships and all that was related to it. The young boy decided he was going to marry his books as his mama taught him. Ladies everywhere but he was a bit scared. He asked himself "girls from other parts of Nigeria are they the same? " He never knew time had the answer. He made new friends: Jerry, Semiloore, Ayo and Ola.  Different personalities. Now to a major throwback, the young boy was still technically dating his first crush in the city of Enugu. They had been communicating despite all the years that passed. She called him one day only for the young boy to say he wasn't interested in the relationship. Wow!!  He's broken the 3rd heart of his sojourn.. The young boy and his friends finished their first semester. He had not met even a new girl.

The second semester was already here. Our Young boy has matured in school. His friends had also matured. Now the search for ladies had begun. They were still intimidated by the looks of the ladies. On a fateful day, Jerry came into the room, told the young boy and his friends Semiloore and Ayo to dress up that they were going to meet some ladies that night.
They  all got dressed and left their hostel. They got to the front of the female hostel and Jerry called the girls. Our young boy, his two other friends Semiloore and Ayo were a bit nervous. The girls came out and introduced themselves as Rayo, love, mystery and fidara.  Young boy and his friends checked out the various ladies.  It was now time to keep the conversation lively.  Young boy and his friends had finally broken the jinx of not talking to any lady in their first semester. Now they had blocked babes. Confidence level was now high. Days rolled by. Young boy had a crush on one of the ladies from that night. He had a crush on RAYO!!  his friends  Jerry, Semiloore and Ayo all advised him to tell her how he felt. He kept being a chicken. So young boy decided he was going to tell her finally On a weekend ...his friends insisted he told her that very day but he refused. Well weekend came. He chatted her up and found out she started dating recently. Young Boy was a bit disappointed but never told her the reason he asked for her relationship status..

Back in hostel, young boy had a friend Swaxy by name. Both were cool guys. They ate together most times. This time they decided to head to the cafeteria besides girl's hostel. On getting to the food counter. They saw a light skinned girl almost in tears. She walked up to them and asked if they had seen her phone. They both said no. The young boy told swaxy to go to hostel that he would join him, he then offered to dial the girl's  number. She agreed and dialled her number using his phone. It rang but no one picked. She lost hope, thanked him and went to her hostel feeling bad. The young boy bought food and then went back to his hostel. Few hours after his phone rang he picked it,  he asked whom he was talking with and she said it was the girl you helped at the cafeteria. She was so overjoyed. Well, Young Boy decided to use that chance to open up another chapter.

He got  to know her name was Blessing and she was a 100 level student like him. She was in college of medicine and surgery. Wow! He got to find her birthday her likes and dislikes.. You know.. Basic things about her. The occasional hook ups started, both the young boy and blessing acted immature. Most times when the young boy wanted to see her she would say she had assignments or she wanted to read. With time they were getting more distant and quarrels became regular. Then one day, they decided that they would settle their differences. They went to cafe 2 then a heated argument arose. The young boy got up and walked out on Blessing. Time flew by, still they had differences. So blessing decided to bring a friend to help settle issues. She came along with a pretty lady name Nuka. Nuka was a pretty lady, cute but on the petite side. She had a lovely smile..... And then she loved play.  Our Young boy quickly started hitting on Nuka. He chatted with Nuka for sometime before she was introduced to Semiloore and Ayo. That was where they found out she had the  same birthday with Semiloore,  April 5th.Coincidentally jerry had met Nuka from God knows where and also had a crush on her. The day he introduced Nuka to Jerry, he was surprised to find out that they knew each other. Being friends, Jerry and the young boy decided to talk about Nuka, they came to a conclusion that Jerry would make a move for Nuka but on the condition that if he misbehaved he would get a serious beating. That's how Nuka was erased from the list of Crushes the young boy had.

Journey through a Young Boy's Love Life

What's this tingling feeling. Why can't I sleep. A little boy in Jss2 was undergoing all these. He has had his first crush. He has decided he's going to fight this feeling. He's going to tell her that he likes her. Being a novice he decides to write a letter to her. Guess what!!  He gets caught the very first day he wrote his first love letter. The little boy was flogged. He wept but felt accomplished that he was still able to pass the letter to his crush. Time flew, he's had his first of many experiences yet to come.
   He's now in Jss3. He's learned that the very first rule is don't get caught writing or delivering a love letter. The long holiday finally arrived. He had gone for holidays at a family friend's place. He notices that the same feeling from back then has crept all over him again. This time he's tripping for a slim slender girl. His family friend's niece. Knowing how risky it is writing love letters he decides he's going to confess his feelings for her verbally. Waiting for the right time he keeps rehearsing his words to himself. The perfect opportunity finally arrives on a beautiful Sunny morning after breakfast. The family had finished eating but he pretended to be a slow eater because he's noticed the niece is a slow eater. Finally it's time to drop the bomb. Little guy is scared. Thoughts were going on in his head. Would she slap me. Would she report me. Well.. He decided to take the risk. He said to her"there's something i want to tell you but i don't know how to say it ". In her sweet tiny voice she urges him to go on. He tells her he's too shy. That he would prefer writing it down.  She gets him a piece of paper and a biro. He writes "i"...he contemplated on whether to use like or love.  As a first timer or maybe someone still new in the process he decides to use like.  He writes "i like you" and then passed the note to her. She smiled, read it and left the room. He's now scared. He began wondering if she had gone to report him. Few minutes later. She came back with the same piece of paper but with another note written on it.  She passes it to him. And behold the very words he hoped for were boldly written on it. "i like you too". He's finally accomplished a mission. Holidays finally come to an end. The little boy returns to school. He left his first love in the city of Enugu. Now his eyes are opened.

He's now in Ss1. Being in a private secondary school helped his ministry a lot. Pretty girls everywhere. A new girl named Amaka has popped up in his class. She was on low cut. Pretty and also smart. She caught he's eye for the first few weeks.  Unfortunately the boy had to change to a Federal Secondary school. yet each day after school he stopped by at his previous school just to see this new girl. He decided he was done writing letters for now. He needed to up his game. He bought a rose flower on a very beautiful day and decided to ask her out with it.  He set off to his previous school. He saw her.  Remembered what he had seen in movies, knelt down and asked her to be  his girlfriend. Of course she said yes. Little did she know he's got another girl in the city of Enugu. That's two girls in less than a year. He's feeling like a champ little did he know he's becoming a beast.  Surprisingly he became sincere to this very girl. He lasted for a year  with this girl. He was still happy he was dating and then he started noticing another girl named Ella in his current school. She's cute. Black beauty and has this classy looking that he likes. He began plotting two moves. First to break up with his then current girlfriend and secondly to get this Ella to like him.  He finally broke up with Amaka on father's Sunday. She cried but he felt it was just another phase of life .

Now he embarked on operation get Ella. He started by trying to get her talk to him. She was in Ss3 A while he was in SS3C. he noticed her daily routine. She always came to classes during break period to pick one or two stuffs before heading to the hostel . So one day he approached her.  He got to start talking with her. He felt a very strong connection with her. Perhaps this is his first True love. He found out she was born on 25th of December. Yeah Christmas Day. She was madly in love with BankyW's song titled 'yes/no' ..she also loved high school musical. Guess what he did. He went and learnt the lyrics of these two songs just because of her. He was never into music but because of her he updated his music play list so she could listen to music on his phone. My guy is finally getting this babe to like him. He decided to take his time. He got to find out her grandma was his food and Nutrition teacher.  Still not scared he was determined to get her at all cost . He finally asked Ella out and she said yes. He really loved her. During the relationship, Ella's phone got stolen and she complained to him. He decided to man up. He used his savings and bought her A NOKIA 2700 back then. She was so happy. Then the rumors started to come in. All mouths were saying that Ella was cheating on her boyfriend. Our young boy heard it but still loved Ella unconditionally. Rumors had it that she was indulged in some activities. He got moved by those rumors. He approached Ella and asked if what he heard was true. She said yes but that was then. He loved her more despite the rumors that kept rolling in. Waec and Neco examinations were fast approaching. He was still Dating Ella. They've been so happy together. Waec finished, school could not pull them apart he visited her often at home. he even went as far as going to see her at home just to kiss her hands and then return to his abode. Neco exams were fast approaching and they were still together. He was determined to give his all. Problems started coming into the relationship when he came to see her on a particular day, she sent a friend to tell him that the relationship was over. She also returned the necklace he gave her. She said she needed a break . The young boy was deeply hurt that he wept and went home. For the first time love had dealt him the first of many blows. They both finished exams and were still observing the break. Both wrote jamb. The young boy was admitted to a Private University and decided he had to go and see his love despite the break. It was a cloudy day and he set out to her house. He met her, they talked and she was so happy to see him. He asked her if she was coming  back to him and then she broke down in tears. With a tearful look she said no. That  she's sorry she's got to hurt him. Her reason being dat he was going to a far away private University and couldn't handle the distance. The guy broke down in tears too. Sorrowful that he's first true love was never coming back to him. They both had a long kiss... Both were in tears and she asked him to leave her house. She felt so bad that she was the reason this young boy was weeping. He then said good bye. The last time he was to see his love in years. As he was returning home. Looking scornful and sorrowful, the heavens let loose. The rains beat him from Ella's street all the  way to his doorstep. He lost his appetite for a day or two and then he became sick. He had malaria. He alone knew what he was going through. He knew it wasn't malaria. He knew it was his first heartbreak. Was this how heartbreaks felt?  He asked himself.

Its a sunny day, gentle breeze whistles past my ears.

The compound whispers my name with joy.
The gardens blossom,

birds announcing my home coming.
The garage, though old and rusty
springs back to life.

My old dog barking at the sight of his beloved master.
Neighbours peeping from windows, 
the generator comes alive, the house is lit.
The kitchen smells like honey and bacon.
The wine cellar filled with rum.

Parents and relations grinning with smiles,
arms ajar for bear hugs.
Little ones leaping into my open arms.
My beloved who sobbed for distance mounted
a barricade amongst us beams with delight.
At last her prince is home.
