HOME COMING

Its a sunny day, gentle breeze whistles past my ears.
The melodious tunes playing in ma head.
The accustomed noisy neighborhood so loud
likes beats from a head set.
The gates open in glee to usher thee in.

The compound whispers my name with joy.
The gardens blossom,
tress waving and dancing,
birds announcing my home coming.
The garage, though old and rusty
springs back to life.

My old dog barking at the sight of his beloved master.
Neighbours peeping from windows,
the generator comes alive, the house is lit.
The kitchen smells like honey and bacon.
The wine cellar filled with rum.

Parents and relations grinning with smiles,
arms ajar for bear hugs.
Little ones leaping into my open arms.
My beloved who sobbed for distance mounted
a barricade amongst us beams with delight.
At last her prince is home.

Back to where I belong.
Indeed, what a Homecoming! ! !

ME

Mischievous yet sweet
Daring but tender
Proud not arrogant.
That's me.

Like a blazing fire
I light up your darkness
I Warm your soul to the tunes of my voice
Got Smiles so soothing.

Skin quite smooth but tough
I walk into tornadoes and come out unscathed
Like a beast I face my fears

Mean faced yet friendly
My pen is my comfort
My words my weapons
My Character is ME

Character like crazy
But forget not, cause
Crazy is the new calm
